Grace (grās), n. [F. grâce, L. gratia, fr. gratus beloved.]

1. Exercise of love, kindness, mercy, favor; privilege conferred.

2. Moral, physical, or intellectual beauty; easy elegance of manners.

Webster's Academic Dictionary, 1895

Splendor, Mirth, and Good Cheer: those were the Three Charites or Graces, of Ancient Greek myth. That's also what we hope to spread with the Winter Graces, along with ethos, pathos, hope — and a huge batch of toe-tappin' fun.

Greg Kefalas, Creative & Musical Director

About The Winter Graces

The Winter Graces were formed in 2016 by Greg Kefalas and Jen Arvay Kefalas, the husband-and-wife team behind New York Holiday Singers, Inc., along with Associate Producer Doug Cordes. New York Holiday Singers, Inc. previously created the New York Holiday Choristers in 2011 and Men Singing Carols in 2013, and invented the true “vocal jazz meets holiday acappella” genre with the popular, premium & contemporary holiday acappella entertainment ensemble The New York Holiday Singers.

Greg, Doug and Jen realized that the next addition to the company would of course be a women's ensemble. After looking at what the city had to offer as far as women's performance groups, we decided to create a more contemporary group that would emphasize soulful, heartfelt holiday music set for brilliant three-part treble voices. We wanted to keep the group sophisticated and classy, but with a down-to-earth performance vibe.

Our one-of-a-kind Graces come from all walks of music, theatre, television, and film. They all have a passion for great music, great ensemble singing, and just like Greg, Jen, and Doug, a love of the holiday season!

Meghann ReynoldsSoprano

Meghann is an actress and singer who loves the theatre, yoga and chocolate chip cookies. Her favorite Christmas memory is more of a tradition — watching White Christmas each year with her family. Happy holidays!

Nicole ChoateSoprano

Nicole, a New York City-based singer & actress from Dallas, TX, is a graduate of the Bass School at Music at Oklahoma City University. Christmas has always been a special holiday for Nicole. The change of seasons and the Christmas spirit in all the people and shops warms the heart no matter what the weather. At age 12 she recorded a Christmas CD with her aunt (Ellie Choate), an accomplished professional harpist, sold in stores in the Dallas area. A favorite Christmas memory for Nicole involves the year she and her brother sat on Santa’s lap and asked for a sled… in Dallas?!! On Christmas morning, that sled was under the tree, and there was even snow on Valentine’s Day, proving that Christmas magic is still magical even if it comes along later than expected!

Holly LongmoreAlto

Holly Longmore started her love for Christmas in a sleepy little town in Colorado where every holiday season was filled with family caroling, hot chocolate, and looking at snowy Christmas lights. Although the Colorado Christmas is perfect and picturesque, there is nothing like celebrating in New York City. You can find her playing shows at various venues in the city as Hurricane Holly (a singer-songwriter who tells it like it is), dragging her city friends out in a blizzard for some street sledding, or of course singing with the Winter Graces!

Lisha McKoyAlto

Lisha is thrilled to join the Winter Graces this holiday season! She spent her childhood learning harmonies by singing along with Alvin & The Chipmunks' Christmas with The Chipmunks album and other Christmas favorites, Donny Hathaway's “This Christmas” and the Temptations' rendition of “Silent Night.” Her favorite Christmas memory is working on a Christmas Tree farm one very snowy season in her hometown of Grand Rapids, MI, proudly cutting fresh Christmas trees for family, friends & neighbors. Lisha is an actress who has appeared in Off-Broadway and regional theatre, film & television. Her favorite recent roles, however, are being a mom to her wonderful toddler and wife to her amazing partner. The holidays are an exciting time at their Brooklyn home. She's already dusting off the old Christmas with The Chipmunks album to enjoy with her two year old and working on perfecting her grandmother's famous peach cobbler recipe for the big day!

Jen Arvay KefalasAlto, Founder & Executive Director

Jen has been a Christmas fanatic her whole life, and she's thrilled to be singing with a group of superhero women. Her favorite Christmas memory is a Christmas wedding complete with a green velvet cape! Jen is the Executive & Financial Director of New York Holiday Singers, Inc. where she also sings alto in the New York Holiday Singers and New York Holiday Choristers, and loves working with her wonderful husband Greg. Jen also gets the opportunity to work with Greg as CFO and Client Relations Manager at Mattermind, a creative strategy consulting firm in New York City. Jen has a BFA in Dance/Musical Theatre from the University of Akron, and has been seen in theatre, film, television, opera, and theme parks. Favorite singers include Ella Fitzgerald and Adele. She also makes the best chocolate chip cookies you have ever had, or will ever have.

Lisa-Marie NewtonAlto

Lisa-Marie Newton was born and raised in Minnesota and moved to NYC in 2014. She is thrilled to get back to a place that has snow in December! Lisa-Marie has been singing and acting most of her life, having a degree from Eastman School of Music, and being a proud member of Actors Equity. She sang for years with the Merrie Olde Christmas Carolers in San Francisco, and is thrilled to be working with the new Winter Graces! The best part of her Christmas growing up was The Andy Williams Christmas Album's “It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “Happy Holiday / It’s The Holiday Season” — “with the whoop-de-doo, and hickory dock, and don’t forget to hang up your sock! ‘Cause just exactly at 12 o’clock he’ll be comin’ down the chimney, down!” She still gets excited when she hears that.
